Description
These spooky Vampire Bite Brownies are the perfect Halloween treat! Rich, fudgy brownies are topped with a blood-red raspberry glaze and a dollop of whipped cream for a truly terrifyingly delicious dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/4 cup raspberry jam, seedless
- Red food coloring (optional)
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Chocolate sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- While the brownies cool, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the sifted powdered sugar until smooth.
- Stir in the raspberry jam and a few drops of red food coloring (if using) until the glaze is a vibrant red.
- Once the brownies are completely cool, pour the raspberry glaze over the top, spreading it evenly to the edges.
- Allow the glaze to set for at least 15 minutes.
- Cut the brownies into squares. Top each brownie with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate sprinkles, if desired, to resemble vampire bites.
Notes
- For an extra spooky touch, you can use a toothpick to create jagged edges on the whipped cream, mimicking fangs.
- If you don’t have raspberry jam, strawberry jam can be used as a substitute.
- Ensure the brownies are completely cool before adding the glaze to prevent it from melting.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
