Description

Spooky and fun, these Halloween Cupcake Cones are a delightful treat that combines the joy of cupcakes with the convenience of a cone. Perfect for parties or a festive dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box (16 ounces) vanilla frosting
  • Black food coloring
  • Orange food coloring
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Waffle cones

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the cupcakes cool, prepare the frosting. Divide the frosting into two bowls. Tint one bowl black and the other orange using food coloring.
  9. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them. You can swirl the black and orange frosting together for a marbled effect, or frost them in solid colors.
  10. Decorate with Halloween sprinkles.
  11. To serve as cupcake cones, carefully insert the pointed end of a waffle cone into the bottom of each frosted cupcake.

Notes

  • For an extra spooky touch, you can add candy eyes or edible glitter to your cupcake cones.
  • Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting, otherwise the frosting will melt.
  • If you don’t have waffle cones, you can also serve these as regular cupcakes.
