Description

Easy and decadent eyeball brownies are the perfect spooky treat for Halloween or any fun occasion! These fudgy brownies are topped with a simple frosting and candy eyeballs for a fun, edible decoration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Candy eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  9. While brownies are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, if needed to reach desired spreading consistency.
  10. Once brownies are completely cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
  11. Immediately arrange candy eyeballs on top of the frosting to resemble eyeballs.
  12. Let the frosting set for about 15-20 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, do not overbake.
  • You can use different colors of frosting or add food coloring for a more festive look.
  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
