Description
Cool off with this refreshing Watermelon Sorbet! This easy recipe uses just a few ingredients and is the perfect treat for a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cubed, seeded watermelon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Freeze the Watermelon: Place the watermelon cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until solid.
- Blend the Ingredients: In a food processor or high-speed blender, combine the frozen watermelon, sugar, lime juice, and salt.
- Process until Smooth: Process the mixture until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. You may need to scrape down the sides of the food processor or blender a few times.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the watermelon sorbet immediately for the best texture. If it’s too soft, you can freeze it for a short time before serving.
- Optional: For a firmer sorbet, transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze for 1-2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar to your preference, depending on the sweetness of your watermelon.
- For a more intense flavor, you can add a small piece of fresh ginger or a few mint leaves to the blender.
- Leftover sorbet can be stored in the freezer for up to a week.
