- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the Crumble: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Prepare the Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Gently toss to coat.
- Assemble the Bars: Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Pour the strawberry filling evenly over the crumble base.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the strawberry filling.
- Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool: Let the bars cool completely in the baking dish before cutting and serving.
