Description

This easy peach cobbler recipe is a classic dessert, perfect for showcasing the sweet flavor of fresh peaches. It features a simple biscuit topping and is a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches with 3/4 cup sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Pour peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar.
  5. Cut in cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Stir in milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the peach mixture.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • For a crispier topping, you can sprinkle a little extra sugar on top of the biscuit dough before baking.
  • If using frozen peaches, thaw them and drain off excess liquid before using.
