- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches with 3/4 cup sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
- Pour peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar.
- Cut in cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the peach mixture.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
