Ingredients

  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan.
  2. In a food processor, combine the black beans and applesauce. Process until smooth.
  3. Add the protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Process until well combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
