- 1 kg ripe plums, washed and halved
- 100g granulated sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 150g plain flour
- 75g cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 50g rolled oats
- 50g light brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Place the halved plums in a baking dish. Sprinkle with the 100g granulated sugar and lemon juice.
- In a separate bowl, rub the flour and butter together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the oats, light brown sugar, and salt.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the plums.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the plums are soft and bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, custard, or whipped cream.
- For a richer crumble, add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or a pinch of nutmeg to the crumble topping.
