Description

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ripe plums, washed and halved
  • 100g granulated sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 150g plain flour
  • 75g cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 50g rolled oats
  • 50g light brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Place the halved plums in a baking dish. Sprinkle with the 100g granulated sugar and lemon juice.
  3. In a separate bowl, rub the flour and butter together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in the oats, light brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the plums.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the plums are soft and bubbling.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, custard, or whipped cream.
  • For a richer crumble, add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or a pinch of nutmeg to the crumble topping.
