Ingredients
Scale
- 8 black tea bags
- 8 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 4 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
- Optional: Fresh peach slices and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Steep Peaches: While the tea is steeping, in a separate pot, combine the remaining 4 cups of water and sliced peaches. Bring to a simmer for about 10 minutes, until peaches are softened. Use a potato masher to lightly mash the peaches.
- Combine & Sweeten: Remove the tea bags from the tea pot. Pour the brewed tea into the peach pot. Stir in the sugar until completely dissolved.
- Cool & Strain: Let the tea cool to room temperature. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the peach pieces.
- Chill & Serve: Refrigerate the tea for at least 2 hours to chill. Serve over ice with fresh peach slices and mint sprigs, if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger peach flavor, you can add more peaches or let the peach mixture simmer longer.
- Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
- You can use store-bought peach juice instead of fresh peaches, but the flavor won’t be as fresh.
- Make a pitcher ahead of time for easy entertaining.
