- For the Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- For the Peach Filling:
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the Crumble Topping: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Prepare the Peach Filling: In a separate bowl, gently toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, flour, and lemon juice.
- Assemble the Bars: Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Pour the peach filling evenly over the crumble base.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble topping over the peach filling.
- Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe but firm peaches.
- You can substitute the fresh peaches with canned peaches, drained.
- Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
