Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Pour peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the peaches.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier topping, use cold butter.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • You can use frozen peaches; thaw them and drain excess liquid before using.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
