These Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and delicious way to celebrate holidays like the Fourth of July or Memorial Day. They’re easy to make and perfect for kids and adults alike!

- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 ounces (about 40 large) marshmallows, divided
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Red and blue food coloring
- Optional: Sprinkles (red, white, and blue)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add 7 ounces of the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat. Divide the marshmallow mixture evenly into two bowls.
- In one bowl, stir in red food coloring until you reach your desired shade. In the other bowl, stir in blue food coloring.
- Add 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to each bowl and stir until well coated.
- Lightly butter a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Press the red Rice Krispie mixture into the bottom of the pan.
- Top with the white (uncolored) Rice Krispie mixture, if desired.
- Finally, top with the blue Rice Krispie mixture.
- If desired, sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a creamier treat, use extra butter.
- If you don’t have red and blue food coloring, you can use the colors of your choice.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
