Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (340g) Nutella
  • Optional: chocolate chips or chopped nuts for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and eggs until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Dollop the Nutella over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter over the Nutella.
  8. If desired, sprinkle with chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
