Description
This no-bake apple pie recipe is a delicious and easy dessert that requires no oven! It’s perfect for warm days or when you want a quick treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14.1 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts
- 4 medium apples, such as Honeycrisp or Gala, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup water
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Unroll one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie plate. Trim and crimp the edges. Bake the crust according to package directions. Let cool completely. (Alternatively, use pre-baked pie crust.)
- Make the apple filling: In a medium saucepan, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the apples soften and the sauce thickens, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Make the cream cheese filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the pie: Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the cooled pie crust.
- Top with apple filling: Spoon the cooled apple filling over the cream cheese layer.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow it to set. Before serving, you can top it with whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
- For a quicker version, use pre-made apple pie filling.
- Feel free to add a pinch of salt to the apple filling to enhance the flavors.
