- 6–8 ripe nectarines, sliced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced nectarines.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour the nectarines into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the nectarines.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the nectarines are bubbling.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- For a tangier crisp, add a squeeze of lemon juice to the nectarines before baking.
- Feel free to substitute other fruits like peaches or plums.
