Description

Indulge in these delightful mini apple crisps, perfect for a sweet treat or a comforting dessert. Made with tender apples and a crunchy oat topping, they’re surprisingly easy to whip up!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji), peeled, cored, and diced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease 6 mini ramekins or muffin cups.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Divide the apple mixture evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and cold butter. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples in each ramekin.
  5. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer topping, add 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the oat mixture.
  • If you don’t have mini ramekins, you can make one larger apple crisp in an 8×8 inch baking dish. Adjust baking time accordingly.
  • These can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
