Description

Whip up these adorable and delicious Jack O’ Lantern Brownies for a festive Halloween treat! Perfect for parties and kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (16 ounce) container chocolate frosting
  • Orange food coloring
  • Black edible marker
  • Optional: Candy corn for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until just combined, then increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely in the pan.
  5. While the brownies cool, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate frosting with enough orange food coloring to achieve a vibrant pumpkin orange. Stir until well combined.
  6. Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the orange frosting evenly over the top.
  7. Using a black edible marker, draw Jack O’ Lantern faces onto the frosted brownies.
  8. Cut the brownies into squares. Garnish with candy corn if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use a devil’s food cake mix.
  • Ensure brownies are completely cool before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Get creative with your Jack O’ Lantern faces!
