Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou), peeled, cored, and halved
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Optional: Whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or chopped nuts for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
- Brush the honey mixture generously over the pear halves.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and slightly caramelized. Baste the pears with the honey mixture halfway through baking.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or chopped nuts.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the honey mixture.
- If your pears are very ripe, reduce the baking time to avoid them becoming too soft.
- Leftover roasted pears can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
