Description

These grilled nectarines with brown sugar are a simple yet elegant dessert. The natural sweetness of the nectarines is enhanced by the caramelization of the brown sugar, creating a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe nectarines, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon (if using).
  3. Brush the cut sides of the nectarines with the brown sugar mixture.
  4. Place the nectarines cut-side down on the grill grates.
  5. Grill for 3-5 minutes, or until the nectarines are tender and have grill marks.
  6. Remove the nectarines from the grill.
  7. Serve immediately, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of lemon juice to the brown sugar mixture.
  • Grilling time may vary depending on the ripeness of the nectarines and the heat of your grill.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can also cook these in a grill pan on the stovetop.
