Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240g) plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) melted unsalted butter, cooled slightly
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus more for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, Greek yogurt, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips, if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.
