Description

Indulge in the rich, decadent flavors of Dubai Chocolate Cake, a luxurious dessert perfect for any occasion. This recipe combines moist chocolate cake layers with a smooth, velvety chocolate ganache, creating a truly unforgettable treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

For the Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Slowly pour in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the Ganache:

  9. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  10. Remove from heat and pour over the chopped chocolate in a heat-proof bowl. Let sit for 1 minute then whisk until smooth.
  11. Stir in the softened butter until fully incorporated.
  12. Let the ganache cool slightly to a spreadable consistency.
  13. Assembly:

  14. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread with a generous layer of ganache.
  15. Top with the second cake layer and frost the top and sides with the remaining ganache.
  16. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra richness, substitute half of the buttermilk with sour cream.
  • You can add a layer of fresh raspberries or strawberries between the cake layers for a fruity twist.
  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
