Description

A simple, refreshing, and dog-safe frozen treat made with just three ingredients. Perfect for cooling down your furry friend on a hot day!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt (Greek or regular)
  • 1/4 cup natural, unsalted peanut butter (ensure it is Xylitol-free)

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced bananas in a freezer-safe bag or container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until completely solid.
  2. Once frozen, transfer the banana slices to a food processor or high-powered blender.
  3. Add the plain yogurt and Xylitol-free peanut butter to the food processor.
  4. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and resembles soft-serve ice cream. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides several times.
  5. Spoon the mixture into silicone ice cube trays, small muffin tins, or specialized dog treat molds.
  6. Freeze for a minimum of 6 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
  7. To serve, let the ‘pupsicle’ sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before popping out of the mold. Supervise your dog while enjoying this treat.

Notes

  • Always check your peanut butter label to ensure it contains absolutely no Xylitol (birch sugar), as it is highly toxic to dogs.
  • For a different texture, you can freeze the mixture in a loaf pan and scoop it out like traditional ice cream.
  • This recipe can be made dairy-free by substituting the yogurt with unsweetened coconut cream or plain, unsweetened almond milk.
