Description

These cream cheese swirl brownies are the ultimate treat for brownie lovers! The fudgy, chocolatey base is perfectly complemented by a tangy, creamy cream cheese swirl. They’re easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • For the Cream Cheese Swirl:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter.
  8. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the cream cheese and brownie batter together.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • For extra chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure your cream cheese is softened to prevent lumps in the swirl.
  • You can add chocolate chips to the brownie batter for extra richness.
  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
