- 1 cup buttermilk

- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup boiling water
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the melted chocolate.
- Gradually add the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin.
- Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake.
- Let the glaze set before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of bittersweet.
- You can add chocolate chips to the batter for extra chocolatey goodness.
- If you don’t have buttermilk, you can make a substitute by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
