Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and flour two 6-ounce ramekins.
- In a heatproof bowl set over a simmering pot of water (or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between), melt the chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until pale and slightly thickened. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, chili powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, folding until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still soft.
- Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for a minute or two before inverting them onto plates.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with fresh berries, if desired.
