Description

Indulge in these decadent caramel pecan brownies, a perfect blend of fudgy chocolate, gooey caramel, and crunchy pecans. A truly irresistible treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce evenly over the batter.
  9. Carefully spread the remaining brownie batter over the caramel layer.
  10. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached (not wet batter).
  12. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra gooey center, you can slightly underbake the brownies.
  • Allowing the brownies to cool completely is crucial for clean cuts.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an ultimate dessert experience.
  • Homemade caramel sauce can be made by simmering heavy cream and sugar until thickened.
