- 1 (14 ounce) package caramels, unwrapped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramels and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and melted.
- Drizzle the caramel over the brownie batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over the caramel.
- Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the caramel and brownie batter together.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
