  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (14 ounce) package caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramels and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and melted.
  7. Drizzle the caramel over the brownie batter in the pan.
  8. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the caramel.
  9. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the caramel and brownie batter together.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
