Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Cut in 1/2 cup of cold unsalted butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of milk and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon dollops of the cobbler topping evenly over the apples.
- Drizzle 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the cobbler topping.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For an extra caramel flavor, you can warm the caramel sauce slightly before drizzling.
- If you don’t have caramel sauce, you can make a simple one by melting caramel candies with a tablespoon of milk or cream.
- Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg to the apple mixture for extra spice.
- This cobbler is best served warm.
