- 6 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the blueberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Gently toss to coat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, oats, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour the blueberry mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the blueberries.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a richer crumble, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar in the topping.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
- You can use frozen blueberries, but don’t thaw them before using.
