- 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the mashed bananas, chocolate chips, and nuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips, if desired.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
