Description

Indulge in a warm and comforting apple crumble in a mug! This recipe is incredibly easy to make and ready in minutes, making it the perfect single-serving dessert for any craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for topping
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup diced apple (Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cold butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  2. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
  3. Gently fold in the diced apple.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, remaining 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter. Use your fingers or a fork to work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apple mixture in the mug.
  6. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and the topping is golden brown. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave.
  7. Let cool slightly before enjoying. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use brown sugar in the cake batter as well.
  • If the topping starts to brown too quickly, you can loosely cover the mug with a paper towel.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
