Description

A decadent fusion of creamy cheesecake and comforting apple crumble, this dessert is a showstopper for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust:
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • For the Cheesecake Filling:
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • For the Apple Crumble Topping:
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and ¼ cup granulated sugar. Pour in melted butter and mix until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until lightly golden. Let cool.
  3. Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream until just combined. Pour the filling over the cooled crust.
  4. Prepare the Apple Crumble Topping: In a separate bowl, toss chopped apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, combine flour and oats. Cut in the cold butter with a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Sprinkle the apple mixture evenly over the cheesecake filling. Then, sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  7. Cool and Chill: Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Chill: Cover the cheesecake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving.
  9. Serve: Carefully remove the sides of the springform pan. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the crumble topping.
  • If you prefer a smoother topping, you can pulse the apples in a food processor until finely chopped.
  • This cheesecake is best served chilled.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
